The St. Augustine Church of Panglao, Bohol, which was inaugurated in 1924, is a lasting symbol of hard toil, sacrifice, honest endeavor, goodwill and a wholehearted cooperation and support among its church leader, town officials and the good Roman Catholic inhabitants both living in and outside of Panglao. The inauguration was a four-day affair. The blessing and inaugural mass, which was officiated by Bishop Juan B. Gorordo was definitely held in the morning of Sunday, August 31, 1924, from 7:00 to 10:00 am. It was a very lively and pleasant day characterized further by the sound of fireworks, ringing of church bells and the musical rendition of church bands.
