Kamatayon ni Padre Alfredo A. Cadiz
September 11th, 2008KAMATAYON NI PADRE ALFREDO A. CADIZ Sa dakong kasubo gipahibalo ang kamatayon Ni Padre Alfredo A Cadiz. Namatay siya kaniadtong Septiyembre 9, 2008 didto sa Tagbilaran Community Hospital. Kali t ang maong kamatayon.
Sulod sa dugay nga panahon, miundang siya sa pagtuon sa seminaryo aron sa pagtabang sa iyang banay. Hinoon iya kining gipadayon human mohunong sa pagtuon sa seminaryo sa 16 ka mga tuig.
Mipadayon siya sa pagtuon sa pilosopiya sa Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary sa Taloto. Ug iyang natapos ang theolohiya didto sa UST Central Seminary sa Manila. Giordenahan siya nga usa ka pari sa panahon ni Obispo Onesimo C. Gordoncillo, DD nga iyang ig-agaw.Nahimo si anhing Padre Fred nga Diocesan Economus, ug kura paroko sa mga parokya sa Batuan, Tabuan-Garcia Hernandez, Lila ug karon sa parokya ni San Antonio de Padua sa Sikatuna. Naila siya nga hanas mopanday sa Gagmayng Simbahanong Katilingban kon GSK o BECs). Nahimo usab siya nga pangulo sa Diocesan Cemetery Commission.
Ang iyang patayng lawas gihatod ngadto sa Sikatuna sa miaging Huwebes, Septiyembre 11. Nabalhin ang haya ngadto sa iyang panimalay sa lungsod sa Garcia Hernandez sukad gahapong adlawa, Sabado. Ang lubong gitakda nga saulogon karong umaabot nga Lunes, Septiyembre 22, didto sa iyang lungsod sa Garcia Hernandez.

With great sorrow I received the shocking news of the death of Father Alfredo Cadiz. As an IHMS seminarian way back in the 60’s, it was he who convinced me to enter the seminary. On summer vacations, he attended morning mass daily and ate breakfast with Father Gaudioso Sucre, my uncle who as then parish priest of St. John the Baptist Parish, Garcia-Hernandez. Unfortunately, he left the seminary before finishing philosophy and when he resumed his studies, he had to study under one of my former philosohy students, Father Khing Vaño, before leaving for UST. I was glad to hear about his ordination and what a great job he did in the diocese. He will surely be missed. As we pray in the novena for the dead, “Kaloy-i Ginoo and kalag ni Padre Alfredo Cadiz nga among gituyo sa pag-ampo.”
